Old Arsenal - Geneva - Switzerland
The state archives are stored on the first floor. The covered space on the ground floor houses five canons belonging to the Genevan artillery that dates back to the 17th and 18th centuries. In the background there are three frescoes representing key periods in Genevan history: the arrival of Julius Caesar in Geneva; the Earl de Genevois and the fairs; and welcoming the Huguenot refugees during the Reformation. During the annual "Escalade" celebrations vegetable soup is sold here in commemorative bowls.
