Volendam. Alida Hoeve Cheese FactoryWho has not heard of Gouda and Edam cheese? At our farm "Alida Hoeve" in Volendam, we make Edam and Gouda farmer's cheese according to an old recipe. Throughout the whole year we make cheese from the milk of our fifty cows. In Holland there are only about 700 farmers who are still making cheese. We are one of the few that who still make the Edamfarmer's cheese, and we also make Gouda cheese. Our farm is open for the public to see this handicraft.
