Aalsmeer - North of Holland

Aalsmeer. The Aalsmeer Flower auction is a growers' cooperative. About five thousand flower, pot-plant and garden plant growers are members of this cooperative association, making them joint owners of the auction building. The auction provides them with certainty of sales and direct payment of goods delivered. The building, which was completed in 1972, has a total floor area of more than 755,000 m2 - comparable to some 125 football fields.
